The county fair in Glendive, Montana will once again host the Dawson County Fair Open Horse Show. This enjoyable show starts at 8 am on August 7, 2013 with halter classes followed by some of the crowd favorite classes – Leadline for riders age six and under and several walk-trot classes for those under age nine. After a (usually late-morning) lunch break the classes resume in front of the grandstands in the rodeo arena. Classes include horse show staples like western pleasure, reining, and games as well as less-common classes like team driving. Everyone with a horse should find something they can participant in and entrants are welcome regardless of their home county or state. [Read more…] about Dawson County Fair Open Horse Show
UPDATE! Erika and Robert showed their horses under saddle at the 2011 Garfield County fair. This is their third year with the horses and they are doing a great job. Erika who is now 14 years old, won a blue ribbon and took Reserve Grand in the class of three year olds. Congratulations! Erika! Robert, who is also 14 years old now, earned a blue ribbon. Congratulations! Robert! Robert says his gelding is s “cow eating son-of-a-gun”. We are really proud of both these fine young people and the dedication they have shown to the training of their S-Heart horses.
The following is the story of these young people and their horses:
As a way to encourage those who are interested in the 4-H Horse Program in our county in Montana, we at S Heart Performance Horses awarded two weanlings to deserving young people in the fall of 2008. A King Fritz/Sugar Bars bred colt found a new home with 10 yr old Robert Bliss and the King Fritz/Sr Doctor Tari bred filly is residing with 10 yr old Erika Cremer.
