We, at S Heart Horses, are in the business of breeding colts with the bloodlines that gives them the potential to be performance horses. Generally speaking, we do not show or compete in rodeo events, (we leave that up to you) but we breed the horses that will. This has been proven many times over by the evidence that most of our colts that have been sold over the last 25 or so years are proven performance horses—-ranching, roping, reining, showing, and more. We have strong roping genetics in our mares and stallion with many of the colts going to ropers who compete and use the horses on the ranch as well. We also have been developing the genetics that we are confident that will be attractive to barrel racers by crossing cow and speed genetics to develop colts that have cow sense, but can really run. We are looking for barrel racers who are interested in helping us prove that for a very reasonable cost! [Read more…] about News from S Heart Horses

This week on Barrel Horse World Flying O Ranch’s trainer posted some pics of the four year old gelding of theirs that she’s riding…..which brought the response below from the owner of one of his half sibs in Tennessee.
“OMG. You wanna see double? Here’s a video of his big sister. I’m her proud mama. And they are absolutely identical twins. Same diamond, snip, and pretty little head. She really is a natural too. The ONLY trouble we had training her was that she literally picked everything up too quickly. [Read more…] about On Barrel Horse World this week!
UPDATE! Erika and Robert showed their horses under saddle at the 2011 Garfield County fair. This is their third year with the horses and they are doing a great job. Erika who is now 14 years old, won a blue ribbon and took Reserve Grand in the class of three year olds. Congratulations! Erika! Robert, who is also 14 years old now, earned a blue ribbon. Congratulations! Robert! Robert says his gelding is s “cow eating son-of-a-gun”. We are really proud of both these fine young people and the dedication they have shown to the training of their S-Heart horses.
The following is the story of these young people and their horses:
As a way to encourage those who are interested in the 4-H Horse Program in our county in Montana, we at S Heart Performance Horses awarded two weanlings to deserving young people in the fall of 2008. A King Fritz/Sugar Bars bred colt found a new home with 10 yr old Robert Bliss and the King Fritz/Sr Doctor Tari bred filly is residing with 10 yr old Erika Cremer.
We at S Heart Performance Horses have been raising Quarter Horses and Paints to perform in many disciplines for years, but now some of them are going hunting.
Recently we were visiting our daughter and her family in the western part of Montana. Our son-in-law is an avid hunter and, at this writing, he is gearing up for a hunting trip to the mountains this fall. They ride two and pack two of our horses.
